Zoom Me Up

Make up for Zoom, Face Time, Houseparty or whatever platform is your preference.

Who would of thought so many of us would be sitting in front of a camera and streaming ourselves for the world to see, or maybe just a catch up with our friends. Whatever the reason we now see how amazing social media can be, keeping us connected in such extraordinary times. Social distancing, self isolation new words for the dictionary and something none of us have ever experienced before.

Slapping on a bit of make up may seem trivial in these darkest of times. However, as a make up artist I can vouch that applying make up can achieve so much more than just a bit of lippy.

Just the process of applying make up can lift your mood, make you feel pampered and self assured. Make up can give you confidence. When you have a Zoom meeting scheduled – ‘it is the new going out’ or perhaps you are talking direct to camera, which ever a little make up can make you ‘camera ready’ and you will be more defined and engaging for your audience.

My suggestion is :

A light foundation to even your skin tone, followed with a brush of powder to set the base and remove excess shine. A thin stroke of eyeliner along the lash line with a generous brush of mascara on the lashes will define your eyes, which are your focal point on camera. Warm your face with a blush. Take a blusher brush (is you have one) moving in circular movements on the apples of you cheek (fattest part) then sweep the brush towards your ears along your cheek bone. Select a favourite lipstick colour to give your face depth on camera. ‘Voila! Camera ready’.

I am planning to do one to one make up sessions – Camera ready for pro-age women. Contact me if you are interested.
