Classic - Karen Lockyer Make Up Artist

Judith was the very first person to sit for me when I started taking pictures for my blog over 2 years ago. Then, very much recording make up looks for beauty stories. Now with a little more confidence in my photography my aim is to show how women exude radiance and beauty regardless of age, to question the narrow definitions of beauty and the limited representations of ageing often presented to us. I believe by challenging stereotypes and celebrating the beauty of older women we can have a more inclusive and compassionate perspective on ageing.

I asked Judith (77) to come and sit for me again for a more classic portrait and make up. Her radience and beauty highlighted with clean make up and classic styling.

Judith said : I so enjoyed my afternoon with Karen. Having long since given up expecting to look good in photographs I was reluctant to be the subject of a photoshoot, but Karen worked magic with her make up, and put me totally at ease with poses. She made me feel special, and she made it fun. I couldn’t believe the results. . A real ego booster.

I am at peace with my age. I dislike the signs of age on my body, but remind myself of the years of good service it has done me. I am more content now than when I was younger, and that to me is the most important.
