Kiss for Valentines - Karen Lockyer Make Up Artist

I set a challenge to my Graceful Disgraceful friends to send me a kiss for Valentines.

After my smile wall I did last year, I thought it would be a great idea to have a wall of kisses and smiles to show the love of womens faces from midlife and beyond.

As a campaigner to see women of all ages represented in the media, fashion and beauty campaigns. I do think we have come along way, but is it really far enough? It still seems many brands have the token oldie to tick the appropriate box or younger women who have chosen to go grey earlier than once deemed the correct age. Lets face it you can be grey in your 30’s, which looks amazing, but not really a representation of an older women. Saying that we do have some fabulous older faces out there flying the flag and it has never been so inclusive as it it is now.

But then we have the whole hoo ha! around Madonna taking on an Arena tour at the grand old age of 64, I mean how very dare she.:) I am pretty sure those Arenas will be sold out. I find it very frustrating that the same critcism is not hailed at the Rolling Stones or Elton John 10 years her senior. Her choice of plastic surgery is just that, her choice. I would definitely preferred her natural beauty, but who am I to judge.

So to those who deem to judge -STOP BEING AGEIST!
