Orange is such a fabulous colour especially at this time of year kicking through the fallen autumn leaves, with so many shades of orange. Also a brilliant alternative to a red lip a little softer in nature and how fabulous on a pale skin red haired Women – don’t you think. I was wondering how to tie in a story behind the colour and our skin ageing journey, then it came to me – oranges are a great source of vitamin C, which has such a vital role in the health of our skin.
Vitamin C or Ascorbic Acid is necessary for the development of all body tissue. it is essential for the absorption of iron and the proper functioning of our immune system. It also aides the formation of collagen and wound healing all things that reduce as we age. So keep your vitamin C levels topped up to keep your skin and bones healthy. Although! don’t over dose your levels or you will create very expensive Wee. Best to source naturally from lots of fresh fruit and vegetable especially Oranges , Kiwi , black currants and red Pepper.
Catherine 55 is in my chair this week. The orange story perfectly complimenting her beautiful red hair.

I am not sure how much of the make up I would try to replicate at home – in my hands, I would not be at all sure that these strong colours would be so flattering! But as you said this morning, the make up today was a story rather than a “natural” look…
I really, really enjoyed the session, was intrigued by the photos, seeing myself looking so different from usual. The fact that you wanted to spend two hours playing with my face made me feel amazing and special.
Thank you so much, and I will continue to recommend your wonderful makeup workshops. I follow your top tips for makeup, incorporated in my daily routine, so can recommend them wholeheartedly!

About the blog
There is definitely a lack of positive imagery showing older women out there, although, it is improving all the time. Instagram has definitely helped form a community of pro-age warriors. My aim as a make up artist and positive age champion is to produce some fun, untouched, non- stereotypical beauty images of older faces showing great make up and style. Lots of beauty chat too, on how women of all ages feel about their own ageing journey, their beauty routines and make up experience. Also occasional beauty news and facts.
I wonder if when we look in the mirror our dread of ageing is partly triggered from how we are made to feel in our society. So, let’s try and change that narrative.
Lets make a difference one face at a time.
