Adding a little glamour to your make-up look doesn’t have to mean full on. Choice of colour and the addition of a few flare lashes, throw in a bit of attitude and you’ve got it. Naturally Glamorous!

I love creating different looks on Vicky (54) you can spot her in several other blog posts. it is amazing how different you can look with a few minimal make up changes , styling and the all important attitude. To me Vicky looks like she has just stepped off her yacht, not sitting in my make up studio (spare bedroom :))

Vicky sings in a jazz band and was keen to find an eyemake up look that is glam, not too heavy and easy for her to emulate. I suggested a red lip for the evening performances or on the occasions that require extra glamour.

How to get the Look

I wanted a glamourous feel to Vickys make-up, but still wanted a natural feel to the skin. I used a light coverage foundation, then a highlight pen to lighten the darker areas under the eyes. I also wanted a dewy look so added a sheen across the cheeks the combination of light cover base, highlight and dewy skin lifts and gives a youthful glow to Vickys skin. I darkened and filled eyebrows creating a more definite shape without looking over drawn. The eyes are given a smokey grey and brown with a black gel liner along the lash line and a powder line under the eye. A sweep of black mascara and a few individual flare lashes placed from the outer corner to mid way along thickens and lengthens Vickys lashes and definitely adds that bit of glamour. A bit of gentle contouring and a soft nude lip with a hint of pink a true summer vibe. All in all a Naturally Glamorous make- up.

I love that Vicky is singing in a band and seeking new challenges. I am a strong believer in re-invention whatever your age. You can see Vicky performing at the Shaftesbury Jazz festival 22-24th July.

Oh Lordy! My skin is very very dry, and my complexion is often bumpy – and SPOTS!

Have you changed your beauty routine or products ?

I only clean my face now with a cream cleanser, mostly a balm though. Never soap or face wash. I have introduced serums and facial oils as my base before applying a good face cream for dry, 50+ skin.

I love recreating the prof. photoshoot experience, How did you enjoy it and how would you explain the experience to a friend?

My experience of the professional photoshoot experience Karen offers – In its own, the make up application, painted nails, hair styling, etc is an experience that I enjoyed very much. But it’s Karen in the mix that makes it such a brilliant experience. Her knowledge, experience and skill of course, but also her vision and creativity, her ability to put her model instantly at ease, and talking about the how and where to apply, the do’s and the don’ts, and her experience of the products, including those aimed at the mature women market, and discussing our experiences of ageing.
