Take Me Out of My Comfort Zone

It is so easy to stick to what you know especially when, in recent times we have been staying home more than we should or want. I actually see this as the perfect time to try something new, to be someone new – the person you have always wanted to be, but afraid to show.

You can take yourself out of the comfort zone in many ways, but when talking beauty it could be something as simple as adding a scarf to frame your face or new lipstick colour or go the whole hog with a total restyle.

Make up is a great way to lift your spirits and change your look.

I have definitely taken myself out of my comfort zone as a normally natural make up wearer, I thought I would transform myself with a heavier look. I wanted to try a stronger eye, but chose to go without mascara (also out of the zone, haha!) I have been reacting a bit recently and wanted to see if the eyeshadow was enough. To be honest looking at the photo I feel something is missing and mascara would have given my eyes more definition. I do often wear a red lip, but today I over drew to give a bigger mouth and create a power lip.

So no messing with me in 2022 🙂

Be experimental, be brave, but always be you.

About This Blog

My aim as a make up artist and positive age warrior is to produce fun, untouched, non- stereotypical beauty images of faces, all different ages 50+ showing great make up and style. It is not about looking younger, just fabulous and hope to capture a little of the character of my models who are all local women. I’m not a photographer, but have a keen eye on how I want my image to look.

My blog is also a platform to inform you about my Graceful Disgraceful workshops, the experience and what women have said about it.

I wonder if when we look in the mirror our dread of ageing is partly triggered from how we are made to feel in our society. So, let’s try and change that narrative.

Lets make a difference one face at a time.
