Face the Sun always with a Sun protector on your face.
I would advise to wear a sun-cream on your face all year round , but SPF 50 through the summer months. The affects from Sun is very damaging to the skin and can cause premature ageing, dehydration, sun spots and at worst skin cancers.
Education tells us to protect, protect, protect regardless of our skin colour.
When I was growing up we didn’t know or particularly care about wearing sun factor creams and uniformly rubbed in oils to slowly fry. I as an English fairy often became a red lobster trying to keep up with my friends. I did eventually discover SPF creams but would only use quite low factors which ended with the same result (red) ouch! I definitely have sun damage on my delicate freckled face and wish I had known then what I know now.
However, it is never too late to start using higher factors to stop further damage and I have used them through my adult life. It is still good to let the sun kiss our skin gently and give a beautiful glow, which tops up our vitamin D and boosts our mental health, but best do it with a bit of sun cream.
I have suggested a few factor 50 creams that are more natural and/or suitable for sensitive skin.
Sun Day Facial UV Defence | Daily SPF Sunscreen | Tropic Skincare I am using this one at the moment and it is light for under make up and seems to work well. I am very sensitive and this seems fine without any stingy eyes.

Not tried, but Holland and Barrett in name gives confidence of natural and sustainability as a brand.
UV PLUS [5P] Anti-Pollution Translucent | CLARINS® The Clarins doubles as a moisturiser so is a little more expensive. I have used their facial Suncream only in the past (not sure still make this) and was ok on my sensitive fairy skin.
My sunbather in my images this week is Rose 59, wearing her own wonderful sunnies. Rose says she does like the sun and sunbathes, but always with a SPF cream.
