Too Old,Never!

Never too old to wear smokey eyes or animal prints, it is all about how you wear it.

With leopard skin patterns back on the high street, a dark smokey eye make up is the perfect combo. Smokey can be defined in many ways maybe just a smudge of dark eye liner in black or brown with lashings of black mascara or a grey/brown/navy shadow just on the eyelid. Smokey can be achieved what ever your age.

Eye shape is in an important factor of where you apply your shadow and as we age our lids start to droop. The general rule is dark takes back and light brings forward, but as we age this doesn’t always work sadly, due to ageing skin. So it is best to keep dark shadows close to the lash line as suggested above. Avoid colour under the eye, which helps to give the illusion of lifting the face.

So if the fashion is animal print you can always wear a scarf , belt, shoes or just go the whole hog and wear a full lenght leopard skin coat. Go for it!

About This Blog

My aim as a make up artist and positive age warrior is to produce fun, untouched, non- stereotypical beauty images of faces, all different ages 50+ showing great make up and style. It is not about looking younger, just fabulous and hope to capture a little of the character of my models who are all local women. I’m not a photographer, but have a keen eye on how I want my image to look.

My blog is also a platform to inform you about my Graceful Disgraceful workshops, the experience and what women have said about it.

I wonder if when we look in the mirror our dread of ageing is partly triggered from how we are made to feel in our society. So, let’s try and change that narrative.

Lets make a difference one face at a time.
